Step by step

Daily use

This is how Luna is used together with Harvest Moon's accessories for a simple and odor-free experience.

[1]

Sit down. The hatch opens automatically.

[2]

The urine flows out through the front bowl, and the solid waste collects in the bucket.

[3]

Toilet paper can be thrown into the toilet, but with Harvest Moon's stomp, you can empty the bucket less often.

[4]

Rinse the urine bowl with Harvest Moon's after-flush to minimize odor and prevent buildup in the system.

[5]

Sprinkle Harvest Moon's carbon cover into the bucket to cover the solid waste before the next use.

[6]

Close the toilet lid. The hatch closes, the bucket rotates, and ventilation is temporarily increased to draw out any odor.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, to ensure the toilet works well. Over several years, we've developed urine chemistry for waterless sanitation and created this specific blend of biological substances to minimize odor, preserve nutrients, and prevent buildup in the hoses – all without using strong chemicals, since the nutrients need to be safe to spread in the garden.

No, but we recommend using it since it's designed to optimize composting, cover the waste without building up volume, and act as a carbon filter against odor. Our carbon cover is more economical compared to many other toilet covers on the market, completely peat-free, and produced in Sweden – but you can use other alternatives as well.

Yes, but we prefer to throw it into our stomp, since it gets compressed and takes up less space there. This also keeps the volume in the bucket smaller and keeps the surface black and smooth without mixing in toilet paper.

You need to sit down to use Luna 0. The urine goes into the front bowl and is led out via a hose at the back, using gravity flow. The solid waste collects in a compostable bag, made of sugarcane plastic, in the bucket with a peat-free carbon cover. Since the bucket rotates after each visit, you get an even, black surface.
