Harvest Moon is pleased to announce that production of Luna 0 will start in Jönköping, Sweden.
By establishing local production, Harvest Moon strengthens its commitment to Swedish manufacturing, short supply chains, and high-quality, sustainable design. Producing Luna 0 in Jönköping enables closer collaboration between engineering, design, and production, ensuring consistent quality and continuous product development.
Luna 0 is Harvest Moon’s first production model in the Luna platform – a modern, water-free composting toilet designed to deliver reliable sanitation with minimal environmental impact. Local production supports Harvest Moon’s ambition to make sustainable sanitation more accessible, while reducing transport emissions and increasing resilience in the supply chain.
Production start in Jönköping marks an important milestone in Harvest Moon’s growth and its long-term investment in smart, circular, and locally produced sanitation solutions.
Delivery of Harvest Moon Luna 0 starts in late March 2026.

Luna 0 – Redefining the Composting Toilet Experience
What if a composting toilet could feel just as intuitive, comfortable, and well-designed as a conventional one – while using no water at all?
That question is where Luna 0 began.
Luna 0 is the first production model in Harvest Moon’s Luna platform: a modern, water-free, and peat-free composting toilet system designed for people who care about both function and form. It’s built to work beautifully in places where traditional sanitation isn’t possible – or simply isn’t the smartest choice.
Designed for everyday life
Luna 0 is more than a technical solution. It’s a carefully designed user experience.
The toilet separates urine and solids to create a hygienic, odor-free system that’s easy to live with. An electronic self-closing lid opens automatically when you sit down. Ventilation and drainage work quietly in the background. Daily use feels natural and familiar – even for first-time users.
Many of our users say the same thing: “It feels like a normal toilet.”
That’s exactly the point.
Water-free, energy-efficient, and easy to install
Luna 0 requires no water, no sewage connection, and no complex infrastructure. It can be installed almost anywhere – from cabins and off-grid homes to public spaces, islands, and remote locations.
The system runs on very low energy and uses gravity-based urine drainage. This keeps installation simple, maintenance minimal, and operating costs low.
Peat-free and climate-smart
Traditional composting toilets often rely on peat. We don’t.
Luna 0 uses a 100% peat-free carbon cover made from biochar and wood fibers sourced from the Swedish forest industry. The material binds moisture, prevents odor, and supports efficient composting – while protecting wetlands and reducing carbon emissions.
Combined with Harvest Moon’s biologically based After Flush, the system stays clean, fresh, and pleasant to use without harsh chemicals.
Built for flexibility and responsible nutrient handling
Luna 0 supports several approved ways of handling urine and solids, depending on local regulations. Urine can be collected for reuse, infiltrated into the ground, or connected to an existing wastewater system. Solids can be composted or handled through municipal services.
The result is a sanitation solution that supports nutrient recovery and circular thinking – without compromising hygiene or comfort.
