EASE OF USE:
EMPTYING
URINE:In Luna 0, the urine doesn’t need to be emptied. It
drains from the back of the unit and can be routed by
gravity to a holding tank, an infiltration area, or – if
available – to the property’s wastewater system.
SOLIDSTo empty the bucket, put on the lid, lift up the bucket,
and empty the bucket into a latrine compost or other
chosen method of fecal management.
Then insert a new black compostable bag.

URINE:The Luna 0 offers various options for
handling the urine:
- Drain into a rainwater barrel to be used
later for irrigation.
- Infiltration into the ground.
- Drain to a collection system for later
pickup by a service.
- Route into an existing sewage system.
Check local regulations.

Depending on local regulations, there are
different ways to handle the solids: - Compost in an approved latrine compost.
- Municipal service for latrine collection.
- Place the container with the waste in ”
dormancy” for at least 12 months by
emptying the solids in a ventilated
container with a sealed bottom and cover
with a layer of soil. After the storage, the
contents can be composted or buried.

FAQ
1. Is Luna difficult to install?
No, thanks to our flexible connections, you can choose whether to route the ventilation pipe and urine hose backward, downward, or to one of the sides. We include an instructional video so you can easily follow each step of the installation.
2. How often do I need to empty Luna?
Luna’s urine tank never needs to be emptied, as it has a built-in pump that transports the urine to the part of your property where you want it. We recommend emptying the bucket with solid waste every two weeks to prevent the compostable bag from breaking down inside Luna.
3. How do I clean Luna 0?
Our first batch sold out before the 2024 launch, but we are actively preparing for the next production run. Register your interest by emailing sales@harvestmoon.se .
4. What happens to the urine?
Luna’s built-in pump transports the urine from the toilet to the designated area of your property. Thanks to Harvest Moon’s after-flush, the odor is minimized.
5. Does Luna smell?
No, through an innovative combination of technology and chemistry, we have minimized odors both during use and emptying. We are very pleased that our first customers have been positively surprised by the lack of odor.
